7th September - Travel

Fly to Milan (flights not included), met at airport for transfer to Bormio.*

8th September - Stelvio from Santa Maria

To ease you in, this is the shortest and least famous route. It starts from Switzerland and reaches the Stelvio Pass via the Umbrail Pass.

9th September - Stelvio from Bormio

The south-western ascent to the top of Stelvio, featuring 7 tunnels, over 30 hairpins, interesting old buildings and a WW1 monument.

Stelvio Pass from Prato. Finish your trip on the “classic” climb up the Stelvio Pass. With its famous 48 hairpins, it's the longest and hardest of the 3 routes.

11th September - Travel

Return transfer to Milan airport for flight home.

Your bike and luggage will follow you back to the UK and dropped back with you.

What's included

  • Soon after booking you'll receive a route pack with overviews of the three routes planned and GPS routes via Ride with GPS, so you can begin your preparation. We'll keep in touch with you on the build up to the ride and invite you to a WhatsApp (or similar) group so you can find out more about who you will be riding with and share stories of preparations.
  • We'll arrange pre-departure collection of your bike and luggage - we think it's important to take on a challenge like this on a bike you've prepared and are used to. Of course, it also means you get to travel hand baggage only.
  • We'll meet you at Milan Malpensa airport for the approximately 3 hour transfer to Bormio - please see below in "Other stuff to know" for details.
  • Four nights accommodation, bed and breakfast rate, sharing (twin rooms) at the the fabulous Miramonti Park Hotel in Bormio (https://miramontibormio.it/?lang=en). As well as a 4* standard of accommodation, the Miramonti has a gym and spa available at an extra cost paid direct to the hotel.
  • All three days of riding are fully supported with mechanical and nutritional support and support vehicle. We'll meet you at stops for gels, water and hydration tablets from the van and be on hand for breakdowns. We'll have a simple lunch for you when you reach the top.
  • We'll be taking photos of you throughout the rides including using a drone for those memory making shots down the hairpins.
  • And if it all becomes too much, the support vehicle is on hand as a broom wagon.
  • When it's all over we'll return you to Milan Bergamo airport for flights home with your bike and luggage returned a few days later.

What's not included

  • Flights to and from Italy
  • Bought meals and refreshments except breakfast; snacks, drinks, gels, hydration tablets and a simple lunch will be available from the support vehicle .
  • Additional charges at the hotel

Other stuff to know

  • Transfer from Milan to Bormio will leave after the 11:35 arrival of the London Stansted to Milan Marpensa. Return transfer will be from Bormio to Milan Bergamo for the 12:00 (Noon) Ryanair flight from Milan Bergamo to London Stansted.
  • Bike and luggage collection / drop off is free from addresses in England except Devon & Cornwall. For other addresses an additional fee may be required - please contact us to discuss if needed.
  • Mechanical support is for basic roadside repairs. We carry a full toolkit and spares. Spares are based on fair usage.
